Maxime Marquette is a pianist and composer based in Brussels, creating original solo piano music with a melodic, intimate and cinematic character.

Over the years, his performances have taken him to Paris, Amsterdam, Utrecht and Germany. Following a performance at BOZAR – Henry Le Bœuf Hall in Brussels in March 2026, his international concert activity has continued to expand, with engagements across England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Austria and the Netherlands, including London, Cambridge, Edinburgh, Dublin and Vienna.

Since childhood, his relationship with the piano has been deeply connected to emotion and introspection. Very early on, he felt that music could become a parallel language a way to express what words cannot always say. This search for authenticity and emotional depth gradually became the heart of his artistic universe.

​

In 2010, he founded La Pause Musicale, a music school centred around listening, sensitivity and human connection. Alongside his teaching work, he continued developing a personal musical language inspired by silence, memory, light and contemplation.

​

His first album, The Road Taken (2022), marked the beginning of a deeply personal compositional path. Inspired by Robert Frost’s poem “The Road Not Taken”, the album explores memory, discovery and the choices that shape our lives.

​

He is now developing his second project, Endless Dreams, a poetic and immersive journey suspended between dream and memory. Through his compositions, Maxime seeks to create spaces where time seems to slow down, allowing listeners to reconnect with emotion, imagination and inner stillness.

​

His live programmes focus primarily on his own compositions, presented in an intimate acoustic solo piano format. His performances often combine music, visual atmospheres and emotional immersion, creating a contemplative and deeply personal concert experience.

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,

And sorry I could not travel both

And be one traveler, long I stood

And looked down one as far as I could

To where it bent in the undergrowth;

 

Then took the other, as just as fair,

And having perhaps the better claim,

Because it was grassy and wanted wear;

Though as for that the passing there
