Maxime Marquette is a pianist and composer based in Brussels, creating original solo piano music with a melodic, intimate and cinematic character.

After completing his classical piano studies at several recognised conservatories in Europe, he perfomed across Europe during the early years of his career. He then stepped away from concert performance for nearly fifteen years.

His return to the stage marked a major turning point. In March 2026, he performed at BOZAR – Henry Le Bœuf Hall in Brussels. Since then, his  international concert activity has developed rapidly, with more than thirty performances confirmed trough 2028 across the UK and Europe, including London, Cambridge, Edinburgh, Dublin, Vienna, Haarlem and Bristol.

Since childhood, Maxime has had a deep connection with the piano. Very early on, music became a parallel language for him, another way of expressing sensations, inner experiences and the moments that shape a life. Over the years, he has developed a personal, melodic and introspective musical language shaped by memory, encounters and everyday experience.

In 2010, he founded La Pause Musicale, a music school centred around listening, sensitivity, human connection  and transmission.​

​

His first album, The Road Taken released in 2022 and inspired by Robert Frost’s poem “The Road Not Taken”, explores memory, the passage of time and the choices that shape a life.​

​

With his current project, Endless Dreams, Maxime continues this journey in a more intimate and immersive world. The pieces often begin with an emotion, a memory, an encounter or a lived moment, before finding their own form at the piano. ​

​

On stage, Maxime performs primarily his own compositions, bringing together music from The Road Taken and Endless Dreams in an intimate acoustic solo piano format. Depending on the venue and the project, the music can also interact with original visual creations, extending the world of the compositions and adding an immersive dimension to the concert experience.

A journey that begins with the memories of childhood, the joy of discovery...
to continue with the experiences on the path of life and the choices we make...
To listen outside the din of storms and life...​

THE ROAD NOT TAKEN

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,

And sorry I could not travel both

And be one traveler, long I stood

And looked down one as far as I could

To where it bent in the undergrowth;

 

Then took the other, as just as fair,

And having perhaps the better claim,

Because it was grassy and wanted wear;

Though as for that the passing there
